Update September 1:
Due to the large amount of members signed up for the event we will divide in to several groups of 6-8. Each groups will be led by an experienced hike leader. We'll create the groups based on hiking speed.
The order of the hikes have been reversed since the initial posting. We'll do our best to leave the Dog Mountain trail head at 6 AM. We'll leave Gateway at 5 AM. Those who'd rather meet at the trail head are welcome to do so.
End of update
We'll start early in the morning by hiking Dog Mountain, the first leg of Triple D. On to Mt. Defiance and then the third leg, Devil's Rest. 10,000 feet of elevation gain, 25 miles of hiking.
This is not an event for the faint of heart. I'm posting this in May to where you have all summer to prepare yourself mentally and physically. To participate you'll at the very least need to be able to hike Defiance with relative ease. We'll keep a nice steady pace so speed is less of an issue but stamina is a must as is nutrition management to keep from bonking. The feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day is hard to describe.
More details as the event nears.
