I want to do Ruckle Ridge one more time this year, but with a twist. Its not recommmended to come back down Ruckels but that will make it more fun!!
Another possible variation is to head off the side down to Eagle Creek. Which I did once but got a good case of Poison Oak. I think we will save that one for next year. LOL!
Plus it will get rid of that god awful walk down Ruckel Creek. It kills my quads. ouch!
In all we'll gain about 3,800 feet of elevation for a 8 or less mile hike. It's reputed to be one of the toughest hikes in the gorge and is my personal favorite.
Bring: Gaiters (not mandatory), non cotton clothes, appropriate boots and street clothes to change in to for the ride back.
Really none of my hikes are dog friendly, and certainly not this one.
We'll keep a nice steady pace with few stops to keep from cooling down. Please be in decent hiking shape. This is not a rookie hike.
Pay the drivers $7. please
I don't think I have to add with this group that we might not be back by 4 pm.
