C# and SIMD

I have an application that will be greatly enhanced by using the SIMD extensions of the x86/x86_64 processors.  I know Mono has support for this, does Microsoft also have support?  Are they planning to support SIMD?  

What are people's experiences with highly parallelizable math calculation in .NET?
