12th NY Hardware Startup Meetup

Hardwarians!

Are you ready for what will probably be the most memorable hardware meetup event ever? (I think I say this every time). Given that the Hardware Innovation Workshop is on next week, we have a bunch of hardware superstars in town, and we've brought them in to our hardware meetup. We've teamed up with MakeItNYC to bring you this event, so we should be in great company. This month we're graciously hosted by eBay NYC and their beautiful venue. So cancel what you had for that night and get down to this meetup, be ready to have your socks blown off, hardware style.

We have a limited number of seats for the event, so snap it up while you can!

Agenda:

6:30 - 7:00: arrive, get your pizza and beer while it lasts.

7:00 - 7:20: Andrew "Bunnie" Huang: He's the man behind Chumby, NeTV, the Novena open laptop, EFF Pioneer Award recipient... Bunnie's accomplishments are too numerous to list here! Being the sage that he is, he's going to be handing out hardware wisdom to the crowd. Come with your questions about manufacturing!

7:20 - 7:35: Jeff McAlvay: Making assembled PCBs on you desktop? Jeff's company, Tempo Automation, is making that happen. Hear all about Jeff's efforts to create the next disruptive breakthrough for Makers and hardware enthusiasts off all stripes.

7:35 - 7:50: James "Laen" Neal: If you've ever seen a purple PCB with immersion gold pads, you're probably already a fan of Laen's wonderful OSHPark service. Laen talks about things PCB, and answers your questions.

7:50 - 8:05: David Lang is co-founder of OpenROV, the Open Source Underwater Robot. OpenROV blew past their Kickstarter goal a year ago, built a vibrant community, released new versions of their hardware and just raised $1.3mm. Oh, and David still found time to write a book, Zero to Maker, in his copious free time. Maybe the next one could be called "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Makers". Join us to hear about David's amazing experiences.

8:05 - onwards: networking

All this plus refreshments, courtesy of our friends at eBay NYC!
