Hey hardwarians,

We have a pretty fantastic lineup for you guys this month, focusing on the internet of things theme. We'll also be returning to our Microsoft venue in Times Square.


5:45 - 6:00pm: arrival, pizza and beer

6:00 - 6:10pm: welcome and sponsors

6:10 - 6:25pm: Brett Worthington, VP and General Manager at Wink (, a subsidiary of Quirky which focuses on providing an easy to use technology platform for all your connected home products. They've focused on developing a smart home ecosystem for their own and 3rd party products, with a focus on simple customer experience.

6:25 - 6:40pm: Clarence Chio (, cofounder of Chain-Check, will talk about some of Intel's new releases of the Edison and Galileo Gen 2 boards for internet of things applications. He'll show them in action with Chain-Check, his winning project at Intel's IoT hackathon, performing machine learning algorithms to predict when your bicycle will need a tuneup.

6:40 - 6:55pm: Jun Shimada, CEO and founder of ThinkEco (, is a NY based hardware startup that went from an individual product to a fully fledged internet of things platform for homes and enterprises. Come hear his journey of how they started off with the modlet, a self-installable device for energy management for homes and offices, to a company with a line of products including devices, software and apps that allow energy management for everyone.

6:55 - 7:10pm: Vicki Kuo (, project manager from Con Edison, will talk about how ConEd is embracing the internet of things to solve some of their more challenging problems, including peak demand management and smart grid technology.

7:10 - 7:25pm: panel discussion with speakers
