Dear hardwarians,

I hope you’ve started off the new year in style, and that your resolutions involve getting that hardware project off the ground, which might just turn into another startup, and then ultimate fame and glory by means of presenting at this meetup. Check out the next meetup on February 1st.

Events and Crowdfunding Campaigns

  • New York Next Top Maker’s has created a Free Business Basics Workshop on Thursday January 21, 6:30-9:30pm, about how to develop a business around your product. Speakers include BotFactory CEO Nicolas Vansnick, Karma Mobility VP of Marketing Adrea Simmons, and Martenero CEO John Tarantino.
  • Check out Thimble, NY based makers of monthly fun electronic kits to build and learn, well electronics, that get delivered to your home. They’ve started a Kickstarter campaign, and are killing it with 18 days left to go.

  • Kinetic (disclosure: my startup) is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help design their wearable product, run it through manufacturing and testing, and see it off to market. Please help me to spread the word!
  • Canary is looking for a senior embedded engineer (among a number of open positions) to help them make the world a safer place.
  • Dipjar, makers of the credit card tip jar or donation box, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to develop their 3rd version of their product.

Keep building!
