Next meetup on 2/29, last day to submit to UrbanX and IoT Hackathon

Hi hardwarians,

Hope you’re well and that the nasty weather is accelerating your product development. We just announced the next hardware meetup on 2/29, so sign up! We have Canary, Eight and Qleek ready to tell their stories and lessons learned. Also, you can find some photos of the previous one here.

Events and Other

  • You’re still in time to submit your startup to the newest NYC hardware themed accelerator: UrbanX. The Urban Innovation Accelerator has the objective to incubate and invest in companies shaping the future of cities through technology. MINI (thecar company) and HAX (the hardware accelerator in Shenzen and SF) have teamed up to launch this program and they are accepting applications until February 17th.
  • Imagine ordering custom manufactured electronics online with as few clicks and dollars as possible. A batch of assembled boards for the price of dinner out. Brooklyn-based PCB:NG says that they want to be "the Vistaprint of electronics". They're in beta now, and they're offering severe discounts as an incentive. If you want to get in on the action and get yourself some boards while you’re at it, drop a line to [address removed].
  • IoT Hackathon on Tuesday, March 29th, 2016: Digital Realty | Telx is hosting a maker hackathon contest in our New York City Data Center (NYC1). Contestants will be provided an Arduino maker kit and asked to create a "DIY" IoT device which measures temperature, humidity, and other factors in the data center environment. At the end of the contest, teams will show their creations to judges who will vote on a winner. The winning team member(s) will each receive a $500 gift card while all participants get to keep the Arduino kits. For further information and to register, click here.

  • At Kinetic (my startup), we’re looking for an embedded hardware/firmware intern who can help us develop our wearable devices and test jigs to test them in production. If you’re interested, hit me up on [address removed]

Keep building!
