Hey hardwarians,

Hope you’re doing well and about to take Spring by storm. Lots of things happening, but we now have a date for the next meetup, which I’ll announce in the next few days. Put April 6th from 6pm onwards in your calendars, we’ve got a great group of speakers.

Lots of programs for your hardware startups keep popping up. Check out:

  • If you’re looking to figure out the China manufacturing scene for your product, check out the HWTrek Asia Innovation Tour 2016. The Tour is a unique opportunity to meet important players in the Internet of Things ecosystem face-to-face. Tour dates are April 25-29, 2016, and you need to apply here before March 31. If you’re selected, you’ll get: i) US$1000 sponsorship for flights and other expenses; ii) meet the hardware ecosystem and explore opportunities in the China market;  iii) visit factories and gain exclusive insights from supply chain professionals; iv) private dinners with investors and manufacturers in Shenzhen and Beijing; (v) pitch your IoT Project to 600+ industry professionals at the HWTrek Meetup in Shenzhen.
  • R/GA, together with Westfield Labs, has launched a new program called the Connected Commerce Accelerator, for startups creating innovative experiences and technologies at the intersection of digital and physical commerce. Program areas of focus include: mobile commerce, payments, data and analytics, future store experiences, conversational commerce, delivery, virtual/augmented reality and new media content, workforce management, and beyond. Applications are open through May 23rd with the program beginning on August 1st and concluding in late October.
  • MassChallenge is the world's most startup-friendly accelerator. It takes no equity, and awards prizes of up to $3 million in cash.  Startups get world-class mentorship, unrivaled corporate access, and a massive global network. Most significantly, the MADE@ program at MassChallenge is geared specifically to Hardware and Connected Device/IoT startups. Watch the mission video hereThe deadline is in 2 weeks on March 31st!  Use this code for 50% off your application fee: 2016Kia50
  • Want to work with the folks at UrbanX, Mini and HAX on their new urban technology accelerator? They are looking for someone to help maintain and run their hardware lab: you can re-commission stubborn 3D printers, restock and keep a clean soldering station, you know your way around a circuit board. This is generally someone who is getting their bachelors degree and has a few hours a day (maybe 10 hours a week) to hang with us and keep the lab running smoothly. We will pay a modest stipend. If you’re interested, please email Zack Karas on [address removed]

Keep building!

Haytham
