HW meetup on 9/11, Hardware workshop and I want all your Edisons!

Hey hardwarians!

You’re still on time to RSVP for our meetup on 9/11, where we’ll have an indoor farm, sensors on boats, sensors on construction sites, and adaptable smart housing. Hope to see you there!

Events and other

  • Hardware workshop: all good things come to an end, and the last NYC Hardware Workshop is happening on 10/19-20 @ New Lab (Brooklyn Naval Yard - 63 Flushing Ave). The workshop is a two day event for hardware startups, taught by experienced operators, with a simple purpose: teach important lessons to the next generation of hardware entrepreneurs. Workshop details here and you can apply here. This is the event that has most impacted me in terms of valuable learnings for my hardware startup, and I can't recommend it enough!
  • I want ALL of your intel Edisons! The chip is reaching end of life, and at Kinetic (my startup) we’re hoarding them to keep our product going until we can reengineer a better solution. If you want to sell or donate your Edisons to us, please email [address removed] and we’ll take them off your hands.

Jobs@ HW Startups

  • Nautilus Labs is a maritime tech company. We've got a unique opportunity for someone to come in and build out and execute on a pretty important part of our business. We're looking for a Linux Network Admin to manage and deploy out hardware (Linux computer) onto vessels around the world.
  • Trexo Robotics is building exoskeleton devices to help children with disabilities learn to walk. It consists of robotic legs that attach to a child’s legs, allowing them to walk and live an empowered life. We are a team of robotics engineers from Canada that have a mission to replace the wheelchair, starting with the children’s market. See open positions here.
  • Octopart, the search engine for electronic parts, is looking for a VP of Marketing in NYC. Interested folks can email [address removed].
  • The MakerSpace at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering is looking for an assistant manager. Check out the post here, and you can contact Mike Knox if you’re interested on [address removed].

Keep building!
