Hi Hardwarians of the Big Apple,
I hope you're all doing well and busy chugging away at your hardware enabled dreams. We've just announced the next hardware meetup on July 22nd which will have a new SF based hardware incubator Highway1 presenting as well as 3 amazing startups. Lots of cools things to tell you about today, so listen up!
1) Kogeto, a hardware startup that allows you to easily film in 360 degrees, is hosting a beach volleyball game and you're invited! There are currently 7 slots left, but spectators are welcome! The game will be on Monday July 15th from 7-8pm at Pier 25 (at N Moore St on the west side), Volleyball court 3. You'll see an amazing sunset while banging around a ball with fellow hardwarians. Does it get better than that?
2) Walmart has launched its second annual Get On The Shelf competition – an opportunity for any individual or small businesss to compete for a chance to have their product on Walmart's shelves. The deadline is July 31st and you can get more info here
3) There is a great hardware event called Technology you can Touch on July 23rd, from 7-9pm. More info here, but there usually is a great crowd and some good technology demos
4) Looking for a job? Sense my Form, Biolite Stove, Asgar Technologies Unlimited and Curio are all looking for engineers and hires. Check out the job posts at the Zahn Center job board.
5) Weartrons, the folks behind the Run-n-Read product that pitched at our June meetup are doing some customer validation and have asked if you could fill in a short survey to measure the market need and effectiveness of their new consumer electronics product. It should take only about a minute to complete, so go and help a fellow hardwarian out!
That's all for now. See you on July 22nd at our next meetup!
