LEARN TO FLY!
Conquer man's oldest dream...
The adventure of flight.
We are back with Fly High Hang Gliding (http://www.flyhighhg.com/) where I took my first hang gliding lesson from Bryon Estes last year.
BRYON ESTES IS AWARDED U.S.H.P.A INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR 2010 !!! (http://www.ushpa.aero/award_recipients.pdf)
Bryon Estes really is one of the best hang gliding instructors. He has taught me to fly effortlessly so I can confirm that.
Bryon began learning to hang glide at age 14 first flying a Falcon 170, then moving in succession thru the Sport 167, Ultrasport 147, RamAir 154 and currently flys a Talon 2 155. He has flown in New York, Conn, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Tennesee. He holds the current record for XC from Randall airport in New York. He is now only 25 and has been flying for 11 years, almost half of his life. More here. (http://www.flyhighhg.com/lesson.htm)
Let's actually learn how to fly a hang gliding. This will be FUN. All equipment and necessary items needed for the lessons are provided by Fly High during your lesson(s).
What is actually involved in Lesson #1?
On day one we give you a (out at the hill) lecture on the basics you'll need (theory, weather, safety & practical).... after which you practice running with the glider on flat ground. After you master flat ground runs, you hang in a Hang Gliding simulator we have out at the hill, where you learn turns and speed control.
The balance of the day is spent getting short , actual solo flights off of our training hill (about 100' tall). By the end of the day.... you will know how to launch, fly & land a Hang Glider at the training hill!
