Devils Den - Lower Level Intermediate Hike

I have not been to Devils Den in a number of years so let's test my memory and my ability to read a trail map.

Depending on what we do, I'd rate this a slight notch above Rockefeller and Ward Pound Ridge. I say slight notch as I'd like to work in some of the outer sections of the park.

A few general items
1) Pets are not allowed on this hike
2) Parking is limited which is why the RSVP number is 20. I can extend that number if you are part of a carpool. I can do a carpool from either the Kisco area or the Park n Ride in Katonah.
3) Please be firm in a Yes RSVP since parking is limited.

33 Pent Rd Weston, CT 06883

GPS -[masked], [masked]

Directions to The Den From the Merritt Parkway, take
Exit 42 and travel north on Route 57 for 3.8 miles to
the blinking light. Continue straight on Route 53 to the next
traffic light, turn left on Godfrey Road West. Continue
for 1/2 mile, then turn right on Pent Road, which ends at the
preserve’s main parking area.

The Meetu map is correct is you want to be old school or GPS less like me

Timeline - I'd say whatever we can do within 5 hours

$1.00 fee for this event - open to post hike dining if there is interest.

One of the largest preserves in the Tri-State Area, the 1,746 acres of
the Devils’ Den Preserve are home to more than 500 types of trees and wildflowers and 140 species of birds. With 20 miles of trails ranging from daring to serene, the preserve is a favorite destination for hikers, walkers, and wildlife enthusiasts.

Will update with additional details as we get closer to the date

Thank you for another great hike in CT, Steve!! Devil's Den is such a lovely place with many picturesque features and great views of the Saugatuck Reservoir. Looking forward to going back in the Spring and explore even more. It was great to see again Jeff and Pam!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Special thanks to Jeff as time did not improve my memory of Devils Den. A shout out to the Production crew for bringing out the sun at the proper time. Want to return in the warmer weather and hit the trails by the reservoir

My GPS is usually a little on the long side, but here are the stats and some pictures from today's hike. Thanks for a great hike!

Fabulous hike, Steve. Thanks so much! Lots of beautiful scenery at Devil's Den (my first time there -- would love to go back there again). Especially enjoy the pond, the small waterfalls and the streams. Great company as well -- nature is more enjoyable to behold when you're with friends! Was a good workout (8.94 miles in total according to my iPhone's GPS). Looking forward to the next hike! :-)
