I wanted to let you know that Enthought will be offering a “Python for Finance” course from Oct 14-18 in NYC at a mid-town location to be specified. This course is targeted at those with quantitative or technical background (some programming experience is advised) to better understand the scientific Python eco-system. We provide intensive, in-depth coverage of NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas. This hands-on class includes exercises on filtering and plotting Dow Jones data, calculating options pricing using Black-Scholes models, estimating volatility, and using a Monte Carlo simulation to calculate an option price. Although some of the examples are focused on finance, the material and examples are easily generalizable to most technical domains. Please check out https://www.enthought... for more detailed information.
