Everyone, home page June 30 Shakespeare in the Park July 5 Shakespeare in the Park This is the home page of the Public Theater, which sponsors Shakespeare in the Park

Here are links to NYC On The Cheap’s home page and the two Shakespeare in the Park pages.

Tickets to Shakespeare in the Park are free.  You may RSVP for as many guests as you like, but unfortunately, we will have to stand in line at the Delacorte Theatre box office (near Central Park West and 81st Street) or go to the Public Theater box office at 425 Lafayette Street downtown to obtain them as the box offices limit distribution to two to a person (see the above link).  They will be available on the day of the performance in question beginning at 1pm.  Thus, it is advisable to stand in line to receive two tickets.  Performances begin at 8pm-it is advisable to get to the park or Public Theater early to pick up tickets.

I previously sent an E-mail outlining the situation and suggesting that volunteers be willing to stand on the line to obtain two tickets each for those of us who RSVP yes, after which they come to a designated location in the park (I am thinking Belvedere Castle on the west side of the park) for a picnic and some fun while we wait for the show to start (everyone would be responsible for their own provisions and equipment).  I will provide more information on this on Thursday night.  My apologies for any inconvenience to all who saw and RSVPd to the earlier announcement that I would stand on line and pick up tickets for everyone; unfortunately the theater box offices will not permit groups to do this.  If you previously RSVPd yes but will not be able to attend either Shakespeare In The Park event due to this change, I am deeply sorry and hope to see you at future events.

I appreciate everyone’s interest, but I ask that you please do not RSVP by E-mailing me or calling me.  Our group has over 300 members and for everyone to E-mail or call me directly to RSVP would jam my inbox and voice mail boxes.  Please use the RSVP function on the NYC On The Cheap site pages.

If the links above are not working, please let me know by E-mailing me at [address removed] and I’ll try again to send it to you.

Also, please be aware that clicking the Send button to respond to a message from [address removed] or [address removed] about NYC On The Cheap will send your E-mail to everyone in the group.  Members have asked that they not receive messages not intended for themselves.  Please send your message only to your intended recipient-if to me, please send it to [address removed] (my E-mail address).  I’d also appreciate it if members do not send out E-mails with this reminder to other members as it has caused problems in the past.
