What we're about

Working on a game? Join us once a month to work on your project with other game developers, artists, designers, producers, and general enthusiasts! We'll have open co-working / playtest days for whatever you happen to be working on: tabletop games, RPGs, card games, PC / console video games, mobile games...

We're based in Dumbo, BK and part of the gumbo.nyc game dev collective. More info about that / how to join here: http://www.gumbo.nyc/

Game Design Feedback Roundtable @ Pivotal Labs + Drinks / Snacks!

This is a usability / game mechanics testing-centered event. You'll spend the majority of the event giving and getting feedback on each other's games in 7-minute increments. Think "speed dating" for game design testing! FORMAT: - Every 14 minutes, you will be paired up with one person. You will each spend 7 minutes watching your partner interact with and test a specific mechanic / feature / level / etc. of your game, talking through feedback and any issues that come up. - At the end of 14 minutes, you'll get a new partner, and go through the same thing. - We'll go through this for ~7 rounds. And in the end, we'll bring it together for general networking and conversation. BRING / PREPARE: Bring a game and have in mind a SPECIFIC feature of it you'd like to test. (Examples: a dice conflict resolution system, a puzzle in your dungeon, an enemy AI, a character creation screen...) WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This meetup is open ONLY to those with games they want specific feedback on. NOTE ON ATTENDANCE: Attendance will be taken at these events. Repeated no-shows will mean you're less likely to get off the waitlist for future events. Accurate RSVPs means that this group can sustainably be maintained as a free event with food / drinks for everyone! *Due to venue security rules, RSVPs will close the day before so that we can submit a list of attendees to the venue.
