To join, please RSVP by July 19 to: t@tamarsamir.com. “Environmentalism is not about trying to use less
but about trying to be more. It is not about sucking
our tummies in, but pushing our hearts out.
Environmentalism is not about the environment. It is about people. It is about a vision for a better life - for people” — Colin Beavan, No Impact Man

NO IMPACT WEEK is a weeklong challenge inspired by the book and film No Impact Man; and facilitated by Jivamukti teachers Tamar Samir and Ximena Savitch. This one-week carbon cleanse is a chance for you to see what a difference no-impact living can have on your quality of life. Is it possible to live a life doing more good than harm to this planet? What happens when you try? Each day of the program has its own challenge, starting with not buying anything new, then not making any trash, and on until the final challenge of giving back to your community. Each challenge builds on the next, so that by the end of the week you are virtually living No Impact. Nightly meetings as well as a group blog empower participants to support each other and share their experiences. You can join any of the events, but we highly recommend you join the whole week, and especially the GIVE BACK DAY on Thursday, July 24, 10am-2pm. We are joining with the Human Impacts Institute to plant native species in East River Park in Williamsburg. All No Impact Week events are free. To join, please RSVP by July 19 to: t@tamarsamir.com. Feel free to email Tamar with questions in advance.
