pints'n'purls march madness k-a-l/project

been meaning to send  this  out  for a while

this time round, instead of a specific project, we thought we'd try

a theme
a technique

march madness....the theme is sports
it's ncaa - college hoops - march madness
lin-sanity is still going strong
residual good vibes from giants super bowl
people tell me the rangers are doing well
and, of course, hallelujah !! spring training has started (this may be the hi point of season for us mets fans)

so.... THEME

let's look at projects which include team logo's......hats, scarfs, socks, even washcloths etc.

- you can go to ravelry (or other locations) and type in the sport and search

- i have a bunch of items from various sports at the end of my queue (judy0176)

- this newspaper article contains links so you can pick a logo/design from 1000's - for sports or even the
easter bunny or statue of liberty or harry potter or whatever

they send you to a 'bing' site...and then 'knitpro' ; their knitpro site doesn't wwork, but this one does

it lets you custom-make a pattern to knit your logo/design

i do not have the technical know-how to get it to work; plan to try again. however, allie does, and made it work; so, it you are technologically challenged, like me, lean on some of the other pints'n'purlers.

you may have noticed, most of these projects require color-work. stranded color-work. a new challenge and something for us to learn. since they are mostly small-ish projects, should not, hopefully, be too difficult. (i was thinking of putting mr met on my aidez cardigan, but decided not)

if you really, really, don't want to do the color-work...some of the washclothes etc create the design with stitch-work...

and, speaking of the aidez cardigan. people are in all phases of it, complete, work in progress, still in planning stages. if you need a little extra incentive, take a look at carrie's photo on ravelry . it's gorgeous. carrie and deborah posted revised patterns/how-to's on the discussion board. and allie has a color coded annotated pattern she will share.

anyone who has made any of our projects, shawl, market bag, sweater, please talk to deborah. she wants to post photo's of them.

and anyone who wants to make current or prior project, comments are still on discussion board. patterns still in ravelry. try holden shawl, market bags, malika or monteagle....aidez cardigan. if you run into problems, a bunch of us will give pointers and help (solicited or not...)

and, yes, socks are still on the future agenda....
