Do you want to see talks about Search/Discovery/Analytics products that don't reveal tech details?

I reached out to a couple of companies with interesting search/analytics products to see if they could present their stuff. Unfortunately, while the products are cool, presenters can't really talk about implementation because that's their secret sauce, of course. So I'm wondering if you would like to see such presentation anyway or not?

Which of these potential presentations would you like to see?

** Search Engine Integration, Deployment and Scaling in the Cloud: Discuss how developing search application using cloud platform providers like EC2, Rackspace, GoGrid can make development, deployment and scaling tasks less difficult than traditional approaches. Gotchas of using EC2 and why it may require more planning and foresight to fully take advantage of the flexibility safely. ** Dependency-Based Search Data Build Life-Cycle: how to take data from different sources (web, database, xml, feeds) and do incremental builds of data based upon whether or not something has changed. How to use Ant and Fabric and other parts of our development toolchain. Types of normalization we need to apply to the data and how we use SOA to tie everything together. ** Document Chrome removal for improved search, approaches generating a document/website quality metrics that can be factored into search terms relevancy calculations.

Interested in a talk about handling non-English text in Lucene/Solr?

Wondering how much interest there is in having a Lucene committer give a talk about handling non-English content with Lucene/Solr. The talk may look at best practices for various languages, examples of tools that can be used and how they can be used (e.g. Smart CN analyzer, CJK beyond n-grams, handling compounds (think German), dealing with Vietnamese where a word consists of multiple space-separated syllables, etc.
