What we’re about
We are a New York Surf Group and all skill levels are welcome!
Whether you're looking to surf for the first time or looking for friends to trek through dense jungle outside the US in search of the perfect point break this is the group for you.
We have three (3) components to this group: Service, Surf, and Social.
Service:
Active stewardship of the places we surf locally and when visiting abroad. That includes beach cleanups, advocacy, and community outreach. If this sounds like something you have experience with and you'd like to drive this component we are always looking for new people and new projects.
Surf:
We wouldn't be a surf group without getting in the water and getting pitted! Member experience level runs the gamut from advanced to never having been on a board before and regardless of where you are at you are welcome here.
We plan local trips between NJ and NY as well as bigger group trips out of the country to Costa, Nica, Mexico, PR, and others! Our annual Assateague surf trip is done as a partnership with PhillySurfCrew where we camp, fish, surf, and relax. Join us out in the water and find familiar faces.
We ask that you bring enthusiasm and compassion to the water (and leave your ego somewhere else)
Social:
Tired of struggling in and out of your wetsuit on cold days by yourself? Wish someone else was there to sit in rush hour traffic on the FDR or the Belt? Looking for someone to split tolls and talk about how the krypto is so overrated and actually those foamies are kind of tempting to buy for the summer? Come to our happy hours and movie screening nights and bbq's and let's make some new friends and reconnect with old ones!
