Sibylla Shone, the stage-name of poet Valerie Hsiung, is an art-rock singer-songwriter, performance artist and musician. A recipient of the 2012 Frances Mason Harris Prize and a 2013 Mabou Mines Artist-in-Residency nominee, she has performed all over, from WORMS gallery (in Baltimore) to Casa Libre en la solana (in Tucson) to The Parlor (Chicago). Two of her poetry books–incantation inarticulate and under your face–were published by O Balthazar Press. Her debut album will be released in 2014. Born in Cincinnati and raised in Las Vegas, she now lives in Brooklyn, NY.
naOMi ruth is a singer-songwriter, poet, astrologer, and jane-of-all-grades teacher whose creative identity continues to expand and manifest in accordance with her belief that human beings are limitless. born in the city of Ypsilanti between Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan, naOMi is accustomed to inhabiting and redefining vastly different worlds in both her art and personal life. Her eclectic influences and musical mirrors include: Billie Holiday, Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, Erykah Badu, Jeff Buckley, Tracy Chapman and Common. She is most willingly associated with artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello and Mos Def, who fearlessly evolve their sound and strengthen their integrity. A self-described "warrior of the heart," naOMi is addicted to the sexiness of authentic expression; she loves the world enough to tell its hardest and most beautiful truths. A fan described once the experience of her poignant performance as "being strangled with silk sheets." Most recently, naOMi ruth performed with musician Marc Montfleury at one of New York's cultural landmarks, The Cornelia Street Cafe.
Lee Sachs wrote, directed and starred in his award-winning thesis film "Wild Sound." That short film earned him an MFA from NYU, received many awards and favorable press in the New York Times and the Village Voice. He's wrote for a Hollywood producer that called him "bubbeleh," wrote a screenplay for a vanity project about a wealthy Iranian antique dealer financed by a wealthy Iranian antique dealer and scouted locations for Woody Allen. His early performances mixed music, stories and performance art at venues like the Knitting Factory, The Bottom Line, PS122, Dixon Place. Once the internet swallowed us whole, Lee got sucked into information technology still honing his writing covertly in a secluded location. Disguised as an "IT consultant" for companies like Verizon, Avis and Jaguar he grew a respectable practice in User Experience. Now, he emerges from that disguise and tears the lid off business, technology, advertising and stupid buzzwords like monetizing eyeballs in his one-man show. Lee lives outside New York City with his wife, son and a lot of cats. His website includes the Museum of Marketing Madness, www.madnessmuseum.com (http://www.madnessmuseum.com/) &www.leesachs.com. Surefire is a Boston-born, Brooklyn based Garage Rock quartet that sounds like the illegitimate child of the Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys. It has been covered by prominent online magazine Skope, Vents, as well as a slew of popular music blogs such as Junior’s Cave. The band’s debut EP “Another Take on the Same Difference 2.0” garnered considerable attention in the Boston area and culminated to a tremendously successful barn house show in Jamaica Plain. The band decided to aim even higher and moved to New York City in late 2013 to destroy eardrums and take names. Though the band members came from different corners of the world (Taiwan, California, Israel, Honduras), they believe in one thing and one thing only: Rock N’ Roll.
