The Bowery, NoLita, and SoHo Walking Tour

Description: The organizer will provide much commentary. We’ll look at the architectural style and social history of buildings on the Bowery, and in NoLita and SoHo. We’ll first walk along the Bowery, a street that was often associated with the poor and political corruption, and then go to SoHo to explore the cast-iron architecture/artifacts.

Cost: The cost of this event is $2 per person, which is paid at the start of the
walk. This is for the organizer’s Meetup preparation costs and fees.

Meeting Time/Place:  The meeting time is (after lunch) at 1:30 PM. The meeting place is outside the entrance to the New Museum, which is at 235 Bowery. Before the walk, restrooms are available in the New Museum.

Transportation Options:  Take the F subway train to 2nd Avenue/ East Houston Street (about 3 blocks away), the 6 subway train to Spring Street/Lafayette Street (about 5 blocks away) or the J or Z subway train to the Bowery/Delancey Street (about 3 blocks away.)

Finishing Time/Place:  This walk will finish before 5:00 PM at West Houston Street and Greene Street.

Rainy weather cancels the walk. Therefore, if it is raining, or the forecast is for rainy conditions, I will post a cancellation notice early Saturday morning.

If you are registered for this walk and can’t attend, please change your RSVP online. Thank you.
