Union Square, Gramercy Park, Flatiron District and NoMad Walking Tour (2)

Description: The organizer will provide much commentary. We'll look at the architectural style and social history of buildings in Union Square, Gramercy Park, Flatiron District, and NoMad neighborhoods. Along the way, we'll also discuss fashionable society during the Gilded Age and beyond.

Cost: The cost of this event is $2 per person, which is paid at the start of the walk. This is for the organizer's Meetup preparation costs and fees.

Meeting Time/Place: The meeting time is (after lunch) at 1:30 PM. The meeting place is outside the entrance to Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 33 East 17th Street, which is between Park Avenue South and Broadway. Before the walk, restrooms are available in Barnes & Noble.

Transportation: Take the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, or R subway train to 14th Street and Union Square and then walk north to Barnes & Nobles.

Finishing Time/Place: This walk will finish before 5:00 PM at 35th Street and Herald Square.

Rainy weather cancels this walk. Therefore, if it is raining, or the forecast is for rainy conditions, I will post a cancellation notice early Monday morning. If I don't post a cancellation notice, I plan to be at the meeting place.

If you are registered for this walk and can't attend, please change your RSVP online. This allows the members who are on the waiting list to attend.

And if you change your RSVP online on Monday morning, please change it early in the morning. This allows the members who are on the waiting list enough time to attend. Thank you.

Note: This is the exact walking tour that I am leading on Saturday, May 24.

Oh yes, this is really quite a deal for two dollars, too.

Just great, I used to live in that area for quite a while and there was all this history I didn't know...as I said when I was signing up, I could not stay for the whole walk but the part I attended-- John was terrifically well informed and a wonderful guide.
