Breaking into advertising tech

Anyone in the group have any advice on how to break into advertising technology? I'm specifically interested in RTB but mobile and video I think is really interesting as well.

Many companies haven't considered my résumé because of my finance tech background (I think).

What companies are you going after? Ad agencies? If so, stop. They are the wrong target. I would suggest going after media agencies or more specifically, ad exchange media firms.

Traditional and digital agencies will take a lot of time to readjust their models. Look how long it took them to embrace digital and social (talking about traditional shops).

I would target the ad exchange companies, forward thinking media agencies, Google, Vice, Bloomberg, and other media outlets. They are the real gatekeepers.

Hope this was helpful.
