Thomas: I'm really sorry but I now have to take a conference call with a
client in Central America tomorrow and won't be able to volunteer. My
apologies - and best of luck with the run!

Volunteers! Terry Fox Run NYC, Sat. Oct. 15th, 2011

The run is usually over by 10:30 AM. IF you can help out with t-shirts , I
can get you out of there by 9:30 AM

Volunteer timeline
Set Up - 7:00 am - 8:00 am
Registration - 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Start - 9:30 am
Race Area Clean Up - 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Duties include:
1) Registering of runners (both participants who are pre-registered and need
to register)
2) Handing out T-shirts
3) Marshaling
4) General Information
5) Finish Line
6) Security/Baggage

The bulk of the volunteers are really needed to help with the large influx
of people registering at the start of the race, usually from about 8:30AM to
9:20 AM. We need about 12 people to help with the registering and handing
out of T-shirts. If you are planning on participating in the race, this is
the perfect place to help volunteer. We also need to help from about eight
(8) people with our baggage area. We also have to man the Tim Hortons booth
as well.

We need more people to help with marshaling along the course (bring your
cell phone, iPhone, Blackberry Droid or other smartphone to stay in contact
with the start/finish area and for emergency purposes) and to help with
directing people to the registration area and answering general information
questions before the run starts.

If you have any questions, please call me directly at (914)[masked]. I look
forward to seeing you at the run.

What time/where do you need the volunteers to meet? I have a hair
appointment at 10 am but might be able to move it back. I'm happy to hand
out t-shirts or something at the start but can't stay all day. Please
advise. Thanks!

Volunteers! Terry Fox Run NYC, Sat. Oct. 15th, 2011

Due to the overwhelming interest in this Saturday's October 15th Terry Fox
Run for Cancer Research in Central Park, we desperately need volunteers!
We have more runners than helpers.

What?s in it for you:
1.Breakfast courtesy of the Four Seasons Hotel (sponsor of Terry?s run
across Canada back in the 80?s) 2. A nifty, super deluxe, Terry Fox Run NYC
t-shirt, in the size of your choice 3. Free music concert and accompanying
paparazzi 4. Meet nice people who want to help find a cure for Cancer (and,
yes, local Canadians! Who-hoo!) 5. Get in your good deed for the day (or

Message from Thomas Madden, Director of Volunteers:

Greetings everyone,

We have come down to crunch time for the run and still need a few more
volunteers. We are soaring past projections of people that were expected to
run. We are now up to well over 1600.

If you have any friends that can come out to help volunteer please let me
