  • Beginner ride at Blue Mountain

    Blue Mountain Reservation

Hello All, We're going to do another beginner ride at Blue Mountain Reservation. Blue, located in Peekskill, NY, is train accessible on Metro North. There's a 10:55am train out of Grand Central that arrives at Peekskill train station at 12:00pm. Its then about a 15-20 min bike ride to the parking lot at Blue. You will need to buy a yearly bike pass at Grand Central to bring your bike on the train (I think its only $5). Certain cars have extra room for bikes so ask the conductor if you see him/her. Ted will be getting on the train at the Harlem stop. Bike rentals from Yorktown Cycles: https://www.yorktowncycles.com/ *Call and ask for the owner Tom, and say you're from the New York City MTB Meetup for the best deal. Tom can bring a bike to the train station for you (or he can leave one chained up telling you the combination). See links below to see what we define as a "beginner" level rider, and also other things that you should know when riding in this group...
