Announcing a new Meetup for The Irish in New York Meetup Group!

What: Films of the Irish Experience - Part IV- Dancing at Lughnasa

When: December 12,[masked]:00 PM

Bronxville Library
201 Pondfield Rd
Bronxville, NY 10708

This is the fourth in a four part series of Irish films in honor of Frank McCourt. Bronxville resident and film maker Doug Rossini and the Friends of Bronxville Library are hosting this event. It is free.

Based on the play by Brien Friel, this story is about a simpler time in Ireland and a young boy's memories of growing up in a household of unmarried aunts in the 1930's. Meryl Streep stars along with Brid Brennan who won the IFTA Award for her role in this 1998 film.

Bronxville is 26 minutes from mid-town and easily accessible by Metro North/Harlem Line from Grand Central Station. The library is a short walk from the Bronxville Station. The movie will be shown in The Yeager Room which has auditorium style seating for 60.

The movie starts at 2 pm but depending on how many are interested we can do a meet-up before and after at JC Fogarty's Town Tavern, located conveniently across from the Bronxville train station. I have been told Fogarty's serves the best Guinness, but I am not a good judge of stout.

All RSVP's 'yes' will get my cell phone number.
