Open Passive House tours - Hudson Passive Project and tentatively the R-house

  • Nov 13, 2010 · 10:00 AM

NYPH is planning an open house trip during the International Passive House Days on Saturday November 13th. The plan is to carpool to Hudson to see Dennis Wedlick's Hudson Passive Project. We can then decide to return to NYC or continue on to Syracuse to see the R-house (open house still to be confirmed). Please let us know in you response, if you have a car and are interested in going to Syracuse as well (5 hours additional travel time). Hudson Passive Project: A prototype rural home-of-tomorrow, the Hudson Passive Project is an energy conservation project designed by
Dennis Wedlick Architect, built by Bill Stratton Building Company, and realized with support from NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority). After almost three years of research and development—but only four months of construction—it will be the first certified passive house in New York State and one of the most energy-efficient homes in the country. www.hudsonpassiveproject.com. Dennis Wedlick will be presenting this project at the 11/16 NYPH meetup at the Center for Architecture, so this is a chance to preview the house before seeing his presentation. R-house was designed by Della Valle and Bernheimer see
http://www.d-bd.com/p... - open house to be confirmed. Travel time will depend on sites visited - Meetup will be updated with additional information asap. Carpool coordinating emails will be send out on Thursday 11/11

Refreshing to see such developments in the U.S and thought given to the aesthetic.
