Expanding Visions 20 is a photography class being offered this spring into summer. It is open to all interested photographers.

Expanding Visions 20 is a marriage of a field trip class with a class in photographic seeing. This nine week class (Thursday evenings, May 1st thru June 19th, and then on July 17th) will open your mind to new ways of looking at photographs, subject matter, equipment, and techniques. It will also allow you to explore parts of the City that you may not have experienced before.

The format of the class is simple: We start with an introductory session. We will discuss equipment, techniques, and the specifics of the course; a term project will be assigned. For the next two weeks we’ll go on field trips to different places around town and work on the assignments. The following session will bring us back indoors where we’ll share our photographs, talk about our experiences, and evaluate what and how well we learned. Two more weeks of trips and assignments will be followed by another review. Then, the last trip and assignment and the final review (including the term project presentations). The basic thread running through the assignments in Expanding Visions 20 is an assortment of techniques and experiments pertaining to photography’s most import component—light. Not too complicated, is it? Lots of fun and educational; but most of all, it will expand your vision in the photographs you take, and allow you to grow as a photographer.

I missed the first class, but could I continue with the other classes?

Christine Noel! The first session had plenty of both photo and procedural info as well as a image presentation of the techniques to be learned and used on the field trips. Contact Chuck Pine and send him an email asking if you can start with the second session which is a field trip: [masked]. See ya. Ed

Great price for the course, and sorry I already have Thursday eve. commitment. I will also be away for 4 of these dates. Hope it is offered again in the fall.

Sandra! You'll miss a great event but you can still attend a class or a shooting trip here and there! The next Expanding Visions will be in Spring 2015. Best wishes. Ed

Wonderful price and offer. I already have a commitment for the first class, which seems essential. I have a fancy point-and-shoot (Lumix DMC-ZS8), which is a 14 MP with a 16x optical zoom and lots of functions, but I'm always guessing when it comes to shooting in anything but auto mode and would like to know more what I'm doing.

I won't be able participate to the last workshop in July but never mind I am very interested in the others, it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
