NY Quantified Self Show&Tell #13 (NYU ITP)

  • Aug 24, 2011 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Please come join us for another fun night of self-tracking presentations, sharing ideas, and showing tools. If you are self-tracking in any way -- health stats, biofeedback, life-logging, mood monitoring, biometrics, athletics, etc. -- come and share your methods, results and insight.

We'll use the hour to set up for presentations but let's also use this time for re-connecting and sharing what folks have been doing over the summer. Some of you ITP Campers, it's time to bring out your goods from camp.

7:00 - 8:30 pm QS SHOW & TELL TALKS

We are going to save the talks for personal accounts of self-tracking and self-experimentation, rather than sales/investor pitches. But of course we are also interested in tools.

Please let us know in advance if you plan to give a talk, so we can discuss how much time you'd like to take. Each presentation should last no more than 10 minutes and follow our regular format: what did you do, how did you do it, what did you learn. If you have slides to show, feel free but it's not required.

An incredible space is generously being provided by NYU ITP.

We use the sponsor money to pay for professional video recording and some decent refreshments, as well as to fund projects that help the larger QS community. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring Quantified Self, please let us know.

Hope to see you all in August.

totally inspired by @liontex to try harder to fix what ails me. loved the punchline of the Jeopardy guy... "did it work? well, I went on to score the highest one day total in Jeopardy history!" GREAT delivery!! And love the graphs from Beautiful. Sort of agree that strict adherence to 5 min. limit would be good b/c will force speakers to be more concise & clear.

Great substance and passion from all the presenters! Admittedly, they could all have pared down their talks to get closer, at least, to the stated 5 min. limit.

Uniforming interesting (and at times impassioned) presentations. An excellent blend of entrepreneurial energy and creative free thinking.

A few of the speakers were great and offered much insight and inspiration. However, all the speakers took more than 10 minutes and the event went on a bit too long. Also, the honestly now presenter was pitching a product and not really quantifying herself. Overall it was a good event and I will attend another in the future.

It was awesome... a stunning set of presenters from start (Ari Meisel) to finish (Adam Leibson), with Tereza Nemessanyi in the middle! and the beating heart guys!

My first time attending, after several attempts. It was great! Steve & crew know how to assemble a diverse line up of awesome quantifiers.
