***Note that advanced registration is sold out. If you have already RSVP'd for the event, you do not have to pay at the door. If you have not RSVP'd for the event, on-site registration will be available for $20 per person.*** This month's Demos and Drinks event will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 7PM at Gallery Bar. The event is coinciding with Internet Week NY, so come celebrate with us over drinks and exciting startup demos. As usual, the format of the event will feature demos from five NY tech startups followed by Q&A and a general networking session. Entrepreneurs, developers, designers, investors, and anyone interested in learning more about New York's tech community is invited. This month's lineup includes the founders of
Auldabees.com,
MyFitSolution.com,
VillageVines.com,
IsWearing.com, and
SocialWish.com. Interviews with the founders will be posted over the next couple of weeks on
http://www.nytechblog..., so stay tuned. HP is also sponsoring this event and will be hosting a raffle to giveaway a free HP iPAQ Glisten! If you're interested in demoing your company at our next event, please send us an email at [masked]. If you're interested in being a sponsor for the event or getting involved with the planning committee, email us as well. Hope to see you there! -------------------------------------
THE LINEUP:
Note: interviews with each company below will be posted on www.nytechblog.com over the next two weeks.
Bob Cavezza, Co-Founder, isWearing.com isWearing.com is a real time social fashion website. It allows users to show off what they're wearing, share it with their friends, and find where to buy clothes that others are wearing. We are launching our beta version in early June and are looking for new users.
Pavan Katepalli, Founder and CEO, MyFitSolution.com MyFitSolution.com provides the one on one fitness workout sessions and diet advice that personal training offers, except we cost 90% lower than what the average personal training service would charge. MyFitSolution.com has two types of users, Members and Fitness Coaches. Members can choose to workout with Fitness Coaches that have passed MyFitSolution’s online video based fitness certification exam. We’re looking for investors and a Chief Financial Officer with a strong background working with start ups.
Ben McKean and Dan Leahy, Founders, VillageVines.com VillageVines is a demand management tool that restaurants use to discount reservations on specific nights to optimize their customer traffic. Since VillageVines is members-only to consumers, restaurants can use the service to discreetly tier their prices to monetize their empty tables. VillageVines members can book online reservations with top New York City restaurants, and by doing so receive discounts of up to 30% discreetly and automatically taken off their parties’ bills without needing to bring along paper coupons. We are looking for strategic partners and ASP.NET developers.
Tanya Strigach Yan Tsirklin, Founder, SocialWish.com SocialWish makes fundraising easy, affordable, and social. It’s a web application that takes advantage of social networking and a simple payment engine, so anyone anywhere in the world can create a social fundraiser or what we call a wish. We’re looking for investors and general exposure.
Kamran Kashef, Founder, Auldabees.com Auldabees is a place to list, review and share your collection of books, movies and games. We are looking for general exposure.

It was fun! We met a patent lawyer that gave us some great tips for our start up. We also met a consultant that literally cut our costs by thousands with just a couple pieces of advice on our dedicated server decisions.
