NYKP: Saturday Night Session
PLEASE SIGN-UP EARLY: A minimum of 8 people are needed to schedule this session. If less than 8 people are signed up 48 hours before the session, the session will be cancelled.
Saturday Night Sessions are a little slower paced and ideal for new(er) and developing players. Drills will be adapted to the turnout and skill levels of participants, and friendly scrimmage games will follow. Saturday Night Sessions are ideal for existing kayakers who would like to try or get into kayak polo. If you are not a kayaker and if you don't have experience paddling a closed cockpit kayak with a sprayskirt--rolling or doing a wet exit--please message the session organizer or attend one of our Saturday Night INTRO Sessions first. Important: On Saturday nights we need to be out of the building by 8:30PM. Please check the Meetup schedule and put everything away if a session is not schedule for the next morning on Sunday.
Club & Facility Cost: Two free trial sessions are available for newcomers; season or per-session fees are due for everyone else ($125/winter season or $20/session). See 2016 Membership Fees (http://files.meetup.com/10825092/NYKP_2016_MembershipFees.pdf) in the Meetup Files section for more info.
Insurance Cost: ACA Membership ($30/year) or a one-time event fee ($5) for insurance is required and due separately from club and facility fees for all participants (including free trial participants). Newcomers can pay the $5 fee upon arrival (or apply as new ACA members in advance). Regulars: please confirm that your ACA membership is up to date. For the ACA membership discount ($10), select “New York Kayak Polo” as your Paddle America Club.
ACA Waivers: every calendar year, all participants must sign a new ACA waiver (paper or online). See Insurance - Paddle Clubs of America section of ACA site, www.americancanoe.org, for waivers or the online form.
