What we're about

This group is for hiking enthusiast who can handle ~10-12 mi hikes and who are interested in exploring trails far and wide. The main purpose of this group is to centralize and continue the national park quest I began with two sister Meetup groups: in the San Francisco Bay Area (Bay Area Ridge Trail & More, 2008-2010) and in Houston (Houston Area Trails & More, 2010-2016). The group's home will be where I happen to be temporarily residing as I travel the USA and beyond. It will usually alternate and reside between the SF and LA area since often I will be returning to these places and have local hikes there.

DISCLAIMER: By joining this group and doing events you take all risks, including of being of reasonable fitness or experience to embark on long hikes like this. I am here just to come up with hiking ideas and show the way. I will also, on the more remote and adventurous hikes, usually take head counts before and after and be able to explain if there is a difference.

Needs a location

I reserved a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath airbnb ranch house, located 15 minutes from the entrance to Kings Canyon Natl Park and close to Sequoia NP. This is for the people doing the three hikes scheduled. The maximum limit is 9 people. The total cost for the rental is $884.00 divided by the number of hikers. The price is the same, regardless of nights staying. A deposit of $40.00 is required per person. Please note that everyone hikes at their own risk and is responsible for their own personal safety.
