Welcome to the Network! MidWest Women Network is a non profit, nonpartisan, grassroots, sororal organization that serves as a platform for women to get together, listen to each other and have real conversations about whatever is on their minds. There is a lot going on in the lives of women, from family obligations, work commitments and worries and ideas about how to make the community and nation a better place. We want to get women together, in real life, to really listen to each others' hopes, dreams and concerns. Women can be so isolated from each other throughout their lives. Maybe you work in an environment where you are one of the only females, maybe you just had a baby and you are isolated at home, maybe you just retired and have lost touch with your work friends. Join us at an event and meet some new friends! This group is positive and supportive and we want to get to know you and listen to you.
All of us have a set of messages we play over and over in our minds.
And all too often our internal dialogue and personal commentary is full of negativity. But one of the ways to promote and sustain optimism and hope is to intentionally full our thoughts with positive self talk.
Let's work on our own positive self talk by encouraging each other at our next Naperville Chapter meeting! 7 p.m. at the Craftsman by Two Brothers (first floor cafe).
Bring your favorite mantra you say to yourself when you are feeling down. Or share with us how you counteract those negative messages in your head.
We can walk away with some new ideas to improve our outlook and fill up our minds with hope and joy.
Bring some paper and a pen/pencil to write and take notes! Encourage, affirm, and empower!
