****(This event's message board is for all attending.) ****
This is a members only event.
There are NO RENTALS from this location! This is NOT a BEGINNER paddle (not even close)!!!
////The First Sunday Paddle is for all and rentals are available.\\\\
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE AT LEAST A 14' SIT-IN KAYAK WITH A SPRAYSKIRT FOR THIS EVENT.
The posted time is the time which is intended for all to start paddling. You need to be at the launch, unloaded, and in the water wearing your PFD (with a whistle attached), and wearing your sprayskirt by that time.
If you are signed up and then find yourself unable to attend or you are running late please change your RSVP to "not going."
The launch is down a dirt road at the Northerly end of the park. Follow Pennsylvania Road to the park. Pull into the parking lot, go past the pavilion and down to the river.
This will be a continuous exercise paddle at appx 3 mph. The whole trip is appx 10 miles.
We will leave from the Riverside Park kayak launch and head Westbound. (This is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT trip from going Eastbound! The river is much wider going in this direction and it has powerboat traffic.) We will be going toward Fish Trap Bay. Returning we will likely see more powerboats 🛥.
Bring plenty of water, a whistle, and sun protection! Also, you may want to pack your snack and water within reach in case we get stuck in our kayaks.
As always, wear your PFD!
And have I mentioned that you need to WEAR your PFD!!!
After we get our kayaks loaded we can head over to Survey Cafe near the park.
============= PARTICIPATION NOTICE ====
As with all of the events which I organize:
I am not a guide or instructor. I am a kayaking enthusiast out for a good time. As a group we help each other, learn from each other, and enjoy the privilege of spending time with like-minded individuals.
By participating in any of my posted events you assume all risks and responsibilities for your personal health and safety and for your equipment. Properly worn PFDs are mandatory!
It is important for all involved that each participant be prepared for the event. Please use your discretion and your best judgement when joining an event. Be sure you are up to the event - physically and mentally - and that any of your equipment which you use is appropriate.
KNOW AND RESPECT YOUR LIMITS!
