Have you heard of Empty Bowls? "The Empty Bowls Naples organization enlists the creative talents of local potters, artists, educators, students and volunteers to create handcrafted and painted bowls which help to serve up a fun, social event to raise money and awareness in the fight against hunger. The Empty Bowls event held each January in Cambier Park supports the communities efforts to feed the nearly 40,000 people in Collier County who are food insecure, which means they may not know where their next meal is coming from. Event attendees select a handcrafted bowl, enjoy soups from over 50 local restaurants and clubs, delight in the entertainment of local performers, are encouraged to participate in a silent auction, pottery sale and paint-a-bowl event which all goes to supporting hunger in our community. As the needs have grown, during the 13th year of the event, the program will initiate a grant program which will directly help the hungry in our community. Help us help our community...Support the event today!" Check out their site: http://emptybowlsnaples.com/ We will paint a bowl or 2 for Empty Bowls, to help out this great organization. All bowls, paints, brushes, smocks & helpful artistic hints booklets are available, if needed. All levels of experience welcome. ***New Location - Parking Lot #4, SOUTH End of Lot*** Use first path to picnic tables at extreme South end, or path just before concession stand. Tables are in the wooded area. This is a very nice way to start a Sunday Morning, relaxing with friends over breakfast on the beach! After breakfast if you have time, join us for a walk on the beach, swimming, fishing, snorlking, or just sunbathing. Please bring a Breakfast/Brunch item to share (fruit juices, coffee, water, muffins, bagels, pastries, croissants, eggs, bacon, sausages, breakfast casseroles, breads, yogurt, fruit, cheeses, healthy items, etc.). You only need to bring enough for a few people, since everybody samples a little bit of everything. We will utilize the park supplied picnic tables (and sometimes the grills). ***Please take your left-overs home with you!*** How to find us: Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, Parking Area #4 (SOUTH end of lot). Follow the path at the extreme South end of lot, then go right toward the tables in the wooded area. Or, use the path just before the concession stand and go left toward the tables in the wooded area. Things to bring: Healthy appetite, food/beverage item(s) to share, your beach stuff, sunblock/bug spray. See you on the beach!
