Come join me in checking out the Kowiachobee Animal Preserve! **We will be given a tour which will last approximately an hour. I have to have a head count a week before the event, so the preserve has the volunteers needed & are ready for us. I will send a reminder email to all the YES RSVPs. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE - IF YOU SIGN UP, SHOW UP! No-Shows are a downer!! I have a minimum of 30 as the limit for RSVPs, with a wait-list available. **Please, if you would like to join me, lets help out the animals of this preserve by making a monetary donation (Suggested: $20 adult/$10 child)....but any donation would be much appreciated!** Kowiachobee Animal Preserve is definitely a hidden jewel here in Naples. KAP is a Non-Profit Educational Organization that is dedicated to respecting all types of animals! There are many various ways in which we can accomplish this, but without your help it would be next to impossible. The focus at KAP is all types of animals such as: endangered, exotic, farm, and even domestic animals. KAP is a combination Animal Preserve, in addition to being an educational, hands-on learning facility. Kowiachobee Animal Preserve is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that is licensed by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, USDA & USDI. KAP is home to over 130 animals: African Spotted & Black Leopards, Panthers, horses, goats, foul, swine, birds, rabbits, snakes, and so many more the list keeps going on. You can bring apples (cut up in quarters) and/or carrots to feed the zebra, miniature horses, goats and other animals. ** PLEASE, IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, DONATE! ** My contact information will be given a couple days before the event. ~Sheri
Grab your bongos, or maracas, or tambourines, or just sit and watch....let's join the Naples Drum Circle. The "Naples Drum Circle" is an already formed group which meets monthly, in which we will "invade". It'll be fun! Perhaps afterwards, if we feel a lil hungry, we'll go out for a bite at a nearby venue (I'll post which place when I send out my phone number). We will meet at Baker Park on the Sunshine Terrace along Gordon River. Items you may want to bring along: Chair and bug spray and snack/drink. (Chairs are available, but you may want to bring your own). I will send out my contact info the week of the event.
Thanksgiving Edition! 🦃 Bring Thanksgiving or Holiday foods! Wear your finest Pilgrim hats! Talk trash to your neighbor...oh wait, that was Football Edition... And let’s play Bocce! The plan is to meet on the beach near our regular spot, accessed from parking lot #4 (South end). We can spread out on the beach and chat and mingle (6-feet apart), and go for a walk (or swimming, fishing, etc.) after breakfast. The picnic areas are open, but I’d like to keep doing this on the beach for the time being. Since this a BYO event, please bring your own food, beverages, plates, cups, utensils, napkins, etc. in addition to your beach stuff. I will bring the bin, so if you forget something just ask. Gloves and masks recommended. Also, restroom access will be limited to lot #5. How to find us: Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, Parking Area #4 (SOUTH end of lot). Follow the path just before the concession stand out to the beach. Look for my orange Tommy Bahama umbrella. I will email my cell number to all Yes RSVPs on Saturday night. See you on the beach!
This is a very nice way to start a Sunday Morning, relaxing with friends over breakfast on the beach! After breakfast if you have time, join us for a walk on the beach, swimming, fishing, snorlking, or just sunbathing. Please bring a Breakfast/Brunch item to share (fruit juices, coffee, water, muffins, bagels, pastries, croissants, eggs, bacon, sausages, breakfast casseroles, breads, yogurt, fruit, cheeses, healthy items, etc.). You only need to bring enough for a few people, since everybody samples a little bit of everything. We will utilize the park supplied picnic tables (and sometimes the grills). ***Please take your left-overs home with you!*** How to find us: Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, Parking Area #4 (SOUTH end of lot). Follow the path at the extreme South end of lot, then go right toward the tables in the wooded area. Or, use the path just before the concession stand and go left toward the tables in the wooded area. Things to bring: Healthy appetite, food/beverage item(s) to share, your beach stuff, sunblock/bug spray. The host’s contact info will be emailed to all Yes RSVPs the night before. See you on the beach!
