DATE CHANGED -- Due to venue availability, we have had to move the event by 1 day to Thursday, September 17th.
Please join us for our kickoff meeting. This will be a mostly social event to allow like-minded API developers to get together and discuss challenges that we have faced and strategies we have used for successful API development.
While the presentations and discussions are very valuable, we would also like to make this a more hands-on group. We are exploring ideas of how to have more interactive workshops on developing and consuming APIs as well as labs with existing tools and frameworks. If you have any suggestions on this, please let us know.
6:00 - 6:30 = Meet and Greet (refreshments provided by MuleSoft)
6:30 - 6:45 = Group Vision Discussion
A brief overview of the group vision and direction. Please come with your ideas for topics and what you would like to see from this group.
6:45- 8:00 = APIs From the Outside In (Lee Grey from Apigee)
Everyone knows that APIs are essential in today's digital economy, but not all APIs are created equal. Is a web service the same thing as an API? Do all APIs enjoy the same developer adoption? What makes an API great? In this talk, we will discuss how the pace of change varies in different tiers of IT, why APIs are different from integration, and what it takes to create an API that developers will love. We will see real-world examples of the good, the bad, and the ugly.
8:00 - 9:00 = Social
