  • This is the final regatta of the year and it is especially fun! This is a casual race and beginners are welcome. Spaces are limited because boats are limited. Racing begins at 10:30 am and will be a distance course lasting for 1-2 hours.  There is a party after the race.

Dress in layers and more warmly than you think you need, it is COLD on the water.  Synthetic fabrics are encouraged as they stay dryer and warmer than cottons.  Bring gloves!

We will meet inside the club house at Hamilton Creek Marina at 10am.

    Boat Assignments:
Chris and Ania are sailing with Carl Hellerquist on his S2 7.9
Deb and Joan are sailing with Paul Lattour on his S2 7.9.
Paul you are sailing with Fred Bartrom on his Beneteau.

All skippers are planning for you to arrive at 11am to help set up the boat. Go to the Clubhouse area and ask someone where you can find your assigned skipper. I will be there too, so if you see me, come say hi and introduce yourself. My cell is[masked] in case you need to reach me.
There is pizza served for lunch and the race starts after lunch. This is a casual fun race. Be sure to dress warm, warmer than you think you need to. Wear your raincoat, it looks like you will need it.

What if it were less than 40, would you not sail?

If it's colder than 40 we don't sail

What to wear? LAYERS and dress much more warmly than you think you need to. It is much colder on the water. Wear sturdy shoes that cover your toes and have non-marking soles. Gloves are helpful, particularly the grippy variety for pulling lines and sheets. The Yacht Club Christmas Party is following the race, at 5pm. All sailors are welcome to attend the party.

Since I can't race my Hobie, I'll be glad to crew on someone's boat. Excited as well

yeah, they do not have a class for Hobies. Besides I just sheared my port transom when I hit bottom last week on KY lake while going at 16 kts. so Hobie is decommissioned until I fix the transom...

Hello! I'm excited to get back in the boat after a few years break. Is there anything i need to bring? Ticket, cash, specific shoes, etc.? Excited to meet you all!

Good afternoon, do you have a Hobie class? Is solo racing allowed? Do I have to be a YC member to skipper my boat? Thank you
