Food Security - Aquaponics & Integrated, Sustainable Systems:
This presentation will educate us about Aquaponics and Integrated systems that promote self-sustainability. The presentation discusses the challenges we are currently facing on this planet and how we got this way.
We explore how many of the these challenges can be overcome through Aquaponics and Integrated Systems. When we become food secure, we are empowered! When we help our community and our city become food secure, then we are the Role Model for the entire country and perhaps the world!
Aquaponics is the "perfect synergy", using fish that will eventually be used for our consumption, that produce ammonia and solid waste, and using beneficial bacteria that break down the fish waste and convert it to nitrates. The nitrates are then used by the plants as a natural fertilizer for the greens we are growing. In turn, the plants provide clean water back to the fish, by acting as a "filter".
What we have here is total "freedom" and empowerment given to us by Mother Nature herself!
Now you can grow natural produce that is beyond organic from your own backyard! The food produced tastes better than anything that can be purchased in a store. It is GMO free, pesticide free, Herbicide free and it's home grown - so you know where it's been! The fish has no mercury, it is not swimming in contaminated waters, and this method of producing fish, as food, is not depleting our oceans!
Are you ready to be a part of this revolutionary concept? This presentation will make many of you aware about Aquaponics and how this leads to food security!
