Nashville Backpacker Meetup Pages

The Nashville Backpacker meetup is committed to offering a wide range of backpacking opportunities especially in the southeast, every month of the year. We will also be bringing presentations, slideshows, and guest speakers on a regular basis, so you can be more informed about the world of backpacking.

Additional resources include advice about trails and gear. Many members have extra gear that they are willing to loan out - just ask! You are expected to arrive prepared and completely self-sufficient for each trip, unless you make prior arrangements. Please bring your own shelter, sleeping system, food, water filtration, and cooking setup.

The backpacker meetup would also like to present this code of conduct for the protection and well-being of our members. While using this site and attending our events, you agree to accept this code of conduct. As in the meetup terms of service, you take full responsibility for your actions, and you agree to respect other people as well as the trails and environment. Please, please take some time to read through the meetup terms of service thoroughly if you have not already!

This is foremost a backpacking group, and not a dating site. we ask you to only contact people you have already met at an event or trip, or people you already knew. Included in this are emails, greetings on the site, and similar pursuits. If youve made a mutual connection with someone at an event, the ball is in your court! Exceptions are trip leader or member-to-member communication about logistics of an event.

Inappropriate or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated, and moderators of the message boards will delete any posts that we feel are offensive or disrespectful. Please let an organizer or assistant organizer know as soon as any member acts inappropriately in any way.

Inappropriate conduct includes RSVPing without a sincere, bona fide commitment to participate in the event. You should not RSVP merely to "hold a spot" while you decide if you are sincere. You should not RSVP unless you are sincere. Legitimate reasons for changing an RSVP from Yes to No might include: your own injury, illness, actual birth or death in immediate family, unavoidable work conflict. Reasons that might NOT be legitimate reasons: my child has a game, tournament, concert, party, school function (those are known in advance, so please don't RSVP to us in the first place). Organizers work long and hard to arrange our multi-day trips. Please respect and honor that if you RSVP and treat it as a proper commitment as you should. Accepting a "better" date to the prom is not nice and never has been.

The following should be conveyed AT ALL TIMES:

*Please be courteous towards other members and other backpackers online and offline

*No postings that would be offensive to the members of this meetup. Photos, videos, messages, or events that promote hatred, racism, or physical harm of any kind to any individual or group will not be tolerated.

*No unauthorized or unsolicited advertising or promotions. Contests, sweepstakes, spam, junk mail, etc.

*Do not invade privacy by attempting to collect or store personally identifiable info. This includes passwords, account info, credit card numbers, address or other contact info.

*Please do not impersonate another member, or falsely represent yourself in any way.

*Do not copy or use other member's content without their permission.

*You will be removed from the group by doing anything illegal!

These terms may be modified on occasion, which will be in the form of an update of this document. If you do not agree with these terms, please stop using our site immediately.
