The Appalachian Trail runs for 42 miles through Maryland over fairly gentle terrain. Let's take a leisurely 3.5 days to do the entire state, starting at Hapers Ferry National Historic Park at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers and hike north Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and part of Tuesday. More details to follow, flexible, based on who all signs up. Should be a relatively easy hike, good for beginners, but fun for experienced backpackers too.
