What we're about

Have you ever wondered about natural treasures hidden within Toronto? Do you like to explore but don't like to travel far? Do you enjoy nature, getting outdoors, relaxing, and exploring new places with people of the same interest? Nature Treasures of Toronto may be the place for you.

Toronto is a mecca filled with flora, fauna, geology, and history that will astound you! Nature Treasures of Toronto is a group focused on exploring the many parks and green spaces that Toronto has to offer and the mystery of its past.

Did you know Toronto was home to 18 species of mammals, contains six major river systems, and is the hub for civilizations dating back 8 000 years? At one point Toronto had a mountain range taller than Mount Everest and at another time in history, it was at the bottom of an ancient sea.

We will be exploring the parks and green spaces in and around Toronto and discovering the hidden secrets it has to offer. Our groups are small so that members have the opportunity to ask questions and build friendships with other members.

As a member of this group you will have the opportunity to learn about the natural heritage that is close to home and accessible by public transportation, learn to appreciate what we have and how we need to embrace it for future generations, relax and take in nature as an antidote for our hostile and busy lives.

You work hard and time is precious……let Stuart be your guide as you take a break and enjoy nature right at home!
