This is meant to be a space for exploring one's Christian faith through gatherings, discussions, studies, prayer, creative worship, and opportunities to serve. Whether you've been been raised in the church or are completely new, you are welcome. Whether you've left the church, belong to a church, or have never been to church, you are welcome. Whether you come to one event or all of them, you are welcome. All are welcome--regardless of age, marital status, race, background, sexual orientation, etc. In The Message, John 1:14a reads, "The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood." Therefore, it seems to make sense to engage our faith within the neighborhood. Join us!
A note of disclosure: This group is being funded by Northbrook Presbyterian Church and organized by their assistant pastor of outreach. HOWEVER, there's NO need to be Presbyterian or desire to be Presbyterian. Northbrook realized that people are often turned off by the institutional church, for whatever reason. So while anyone is welcome to join in the congregation, our goal is to offer opportunities outside the walls of the church--in coffee shops, pubs, libraries, parks, etc.--to people looking to connect to God and to one another. New faces and new friends are not only welcome, but are the goal.
