What kind of books do you typically read?

Art & photo monographs, self-help and do-it-yourself books, musical scores, and actually most anything that I find interesting enough to read.

Right now your nerd-brain is obsessing about... (keep it clean, people)

An evil genius has found a way to send you through a portal to an uninhabited parallel universe. He tells you he will make one fictional character real to keep you company. Who do you choose?

Can I trust such an evil genius? The 5th Element immediately comes to mind, but I'm sure he'd throw in some evil twist. This will require some thought.

I'm a bit of a nerd, however I confess to not being very well-read. I'll devour instruction/DIY guides like crazy but I aim to read beyond Vonnegut, Bradbury, and Clarke. Hope you don't mind me joining in.
