Celebrating The First Stylist

This month we salute the very first person who did our natural hair - Our Mothers! Many years before our hair was pressed or chemically treated our mothers managed our hair in it’s natural state. Armed with a bush comb, they tackled the most arduous hair textures to somehow emerge a "cutie" worthy of a plethora of compliments. While they didn’t have the in-depth knowledge we have today on caring for our natural hair, our moms somehow accomplished the task of keeping our hair growing and thick.

Fortunately, having healthy natural hair is very obtainable. It is still a very basic science that does not require a scholastic degree to succeed. There are a number of natural hair professionals, blogs and articles that embrace this subject matter to allow us to find the right natural hair care management system that works best for us.

As we continue to gain natural hair care knowledge, we can recommend tips to our mothers of a more natural approach to keeping their hair healthy while looking and feeling their best. We are now setting the example as more and more mothers are going natural, breaking free of the mental bondage of another cultural standard. We take pride this month in celebrating our very first Natural Hair Stylists! Our Moms! We Love You!
