This is a group for anyone interested in understanding the brain, the many cognitive and conceptual aspects, or General AI, with the goal of evolving a framework for how the brain might even in principle do what it does.
The aim is to run talks every 4 to 6 weeks, alternating between two streams: Understanding the brain and How to apply our understanding to a model for General AI. The talks will focus on aspects of the brain from the field of cognitive neuroscience, which is linked with many areas, including psychology, computing, anthropology and linguistics. In theory, these talks will lead to a good conceptual level view of the brain over time, or at the very least supply interesting insights along the way.
For new joiners, some understanding of the brain structure may prove useful, see links below or slides from the first talk. Any neuroscience or AI researchers wishing to develop their public speaking skills or publicise their field (including personal theories, free from constraints of reputation) please do get in touch. All welcome.
