Come walk with others on the Cascade Canal Saturday mornings~  This walk is, 'leaderless,' but it's an easy walk to follow all the way along the canal.  It's a very populated area and usually very comfortable and smooth if you're just getting on the trail.  This trail is marked every half-mile making for very easy record keeping of your increased distance.

Meet at the head of the trail near the posting with doggie bags and be ready to take off right at 10:00AM.

Some folks will be strolling and other will be zipping to the end.  This is a walk for every level of interest.

The walk starts at 10:00AM so there's no need for you to jump out of bed and rush anywhere.

At 10:00AM the walkers will meet at the trail head on the corner of Gracie Road and Banner Lava Cap to meet and share a beautiful part of this near town trail.

The trail winds 4.5 miles around the N.I.D. canal to meet up with Red Dog Road to the north. The half-mile-and mile markers are a great way for you to calibrate your pedometer and get a few miles in before you start your weekend.

The camaraderie makes the time fly and before you know it, you've got your five miles or 10,000 minimum steps in for the day.

The weather can be crisp on the trail in the fall and winter but the tall pines protect us from any strong winds or breezes. You'll still need water in spite of fall weather appearing upon us.  Don't forget a sweater!

There's parking on the immediate corner of Gracie and Banner Lava and a few spots on street at that corner. There's also a lot just down the hill on Gracie and it's easy to walk up the hill to meet the trail head at the corner.

You can walk as far a distance as you like and turn around when it's time for you to do that. If you have any questions, please phone Mary at 798 9601.
