We have been doing a lot of “entry-level” New Culture weekends lately – this time we’re planning something deeper, with more appeal to folks who have been to camp or to some weekend events. Our next New Culture Weekend at Chrysalis is April 19-21, and we are calling it a “Going Deeper” weekend. We’re developing a different schedule, with more intense connecting exercises and activities, aimed at people who’ve been doing New Culture stretching and growing for a while. If you’re interested in suggesting or possibly co-leading activities, drop us a line at!

If you are completely new to New Culture, please consider our upcoming May 10-12 event in West Virginia or our May 31-June 2 event in Arlington (see below). If you haven’t been involved with New Culture before, but you have a special reason for wanting to attend the April weekend, contact us and we’ll talk about it.

We will share a heartful weekend of workshops and group connection time. The weekend will include presentations both serious and playful on transforming ourselves and our culture, intimacy-building exercises, and time for fun and informal connections. Details of the schedule are being worked out – contact us if you have suggestions!

We will begin on Friday evening and continue through Sunday afternoon. People are welcome to arrive early and stay late - particularly if you help with set-up and clean-up! However, please do not *come* late; this is NOT A DROP-IN EVENT. We are creating a strong yet flexible container for deep work, and so we request that people arrive NO LATER THAN 8 PM Friday night for the opening circle / setting of intentions. We also encourage you to stay for as much of the event as possible; of course you may leave at any time. If you have special circumstances that do not allow you to be there by 8 PM, you may contact us to see if something can be worked out.

For those of you who would like to expand their New Culture Weekend Experience, you are welcome to come early and/or stay late! You can arrive on Thursday April 18 any time after noon and stay as late as noon on Monday April 22. During these optional extended times, we will share music, fellowship and connecting activities. You will also be asked to contribute to preparation for the main weekend event and cleanup activities following the main event.

There will be several group sleeping spaces, with room for about 25 people. Mattresses, sheets, pillows and blankets will be provided, but please bring your own towels. Some spaces within the house will be clothing optional (which really means *optional* -- at any given time, most of the people are likely to be clothed in one way or another!). If it is warm enough, people are welcome to tent in the yard—though be sure to bring your own sleeping bag!

WHAT TO BRING: games, musical instruments, healthy snacks to share, a cushion or backjack to sit on, towels, your joy and curiosity

WHAT TO LEAVE BEHIND: alcohol, recreational drugs, pets, fragrances and scented products (including “naturally” scented products)

SUGGESTED DONATION: $75-150. No specific amount is expected, and if you can't contribute anything, you are still most welcome. Please contribute as you can easily afford. No one is making a profit from this event -- all proceeds go to expenses.

Meals will be delicious, healthy, vegetarian food; we will also serve fish in some form at least once during the weekend. With enough advance notice, we can also accommodate many special food needs. We'll ask folks to help out with food preparation and clean-up at the event, so that the weekend goes smoothly for everyone. If you would like to be "lead cook" for a meal or otherwise help with planning, please let us know!

Please register online at All participants must register online in advance – a Meetup RSVP is not sufficient. We have a limited number of spaces, and we expect to fill up! If you haven't registered but find you can attend at the last minute, give us a call (703-534-2298 or 703-755-0607) to see if there's space for you. Directions will be sent once you register.
