Take slow, mindful inhales and exhales. In this donation-only class, you will learn how to maintain controlled rhythmic breathing so that it creates coherence among the respiratory, cardiovascular and nervous systems.
In addition to learning this vitally important breathing method for health, you will find yourself becoming more and more relaxed as you create space between your thoughts and your instinctual physical responses.
Light stretching is followed by meditation on the breath. There will be a discussion after about the relationship between breathing and our quality of life. Ancient Taoists believed we are given a certain amount of breaths for our individual life span. Therefore, the more slowly we can learn to breathe, the longer and healthier we will live.
During this practice, learn to connect the outer signs of imbalance with the healing inner wisdom of the breath. We get clues about our health by way of external signs, (mental responses and physical cues) and one of our primary physical cues is breath, which can then lead us into our inner world of mind & emotion.
