Acadia, NP is paradise for cyclists, hikers, and nature lovers. (and LOBSTER LOVERS!) There are many accommodation options: i.e. camping, motels, park benches. However, the absolute best is rental of a large home in a superb location that sleeps a dozen or more. Look up Acadia and see what a wonderful place it is. We can schedule a few rides on the magnificent carriage roads in the park, do some unbelievable kayaking, hike to the tops of mountains, go whale watching, (the best around), and EAT LOBSTAH!!! For now, let me know if you would seriously consider doing this type of thing. It is about 600 miles to Mount desert Island, 12 hours door-to-door (including stopping for gas and meals). I also recommend adding a stop at the L.L. Bean flagship in Freeport, Maine. There's nothing like it!
The island is a treat for photographers. I can lead excursions to some of the best spots for crashing waves, rocky cliffs, and super sunsets for those not biking on a particular day.
