Mark your calendars to join us for a Special Presentation on "RAISING VEG KIDS" for parents (and kids are definitely welcome to listen) along with a Vegan Potluck Brunch from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, December 11th at Bnai Keshet at 99 S. Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. Our special guest is Dr. Andy Mars who is an expert in raising veg kids and an expert in raising kids in general. He is a Ph.D. in Education who is highly sought after for parent education sessions, teacher training seminars, and helping children directly. He has been vegan for thirty-four years and has served on the Board of The American Vegan Society most of those years. He was a founding member of PCRM and Earthsave, and he is the Founder and Director of the Kids Make A Difference Foundation. He has raised veg kids, runs the Veg Kids organization helping veg kids connect with other veg kids, and is entering the 25th year of the Camp Exploration totally vegan camps for kids. You can find out more about some of these programs at www.VeganCamp.org and www.VegKids.org. On the 11th, Dr. Mars will help us look at what it takes to raise veg kids, what are the challenges and struggles and how do we best handle them, and how we can best help them grow up most consciously. He will inspire us all with how bright our future can be. Even when presented to non-parent audiences, this topic has been met with positively raving reviews. After he shared this on the main stage at the SoCal VegFest a few weeks ago, a non-parent vegan attendee proclaimed the following: "I have been an animal rights activist for decades. I've always thought of my rescues as my kids and never wanted to have my own real kids. After hearing Dr. Mars speak on Raising Veg Kids, I was so inspired and wish I could go back in time to have kids and follow his advice on how to raise them." Dr. Mars looks forward to inspiring us. He will speak for about an hour and will then be glad to answer a a variety of questions while we share vegan brunch together.
